4 tablespoons chopped Ponderosa needles
1 quart water
1 cup honey
Heat needles and water in a pot on high heat until the water boils, then turn the heat down to simmer. Simmer until water volume is reduced by half, measuring one pint. Strain needles away. Add honey to the warm tea, shake, and store in a clean, sealed, and labeled jar in the fridge.
This is a medicinal herbal syrup to be taken by the tablespoon for colds, flu, and unproductive coughs.
* It has been reported that Ponderosa needles, in a high concentration, can cause cattle to miscarry within the first trimester. Take note.
